What should we call our filly?
From Emma Brown 14 years old

I ride at a local Horse farm through the holidays. When we are all snuggled into our blankets, horse talk is shared with everyone. One of the stories told to us is about one of the owners fillies.

A small bay filly was born but she had no name. She still did not have a name when she was weaned. After a couple of weeks being in the front paddock somehow she got out of the paddock and onto the main road. Not long after a man happened to see this filly and he managed to get her off to his place. After the filly being their for a couple of days the owner Kay was driving past and happened to see the filly. Pulling up the car she stared at this filly and knew it was hers. She drove up to this guys place and told him about her escaped filly. The man was quiet happy to hand over the foal. Kay turning to the filly and said “Well my little escapee, how did you like your run on the highway?" So that was what she was called, Highway.

This year Highway has had a foal to a very lucky stallion named Conan.
